Borderlines
The stars were shining from her soul's windows
But dimmed as I slow approached
So I jested with her, tried my semi-best to get her
Despite her noticing such, we ended up against the ropes
I told her I used to only see devils wearing skinny jeans topped off with stilettos
But now realize some come more appropriately clothed
Or less so, as she shed everything she owned
To reveal some doors in which I'd never wish to close
By the time I woke up, she was gone
I wasn't even alone, with a half emptied bottle of Jack Daniels and a note
Which read: In my stead, I just wish to say
The positions you twist words in ways makes me want to elope
I read your subtle quotes, and fell head over sneakers
Well, at least with your prose... but your cons prevent me from seeing you
In a light in which you so cleverly encroached.
In which I muttered, "I never knew the north could be so cold."
